Government House Open Day

K & N Spring Gully Brass and Unley Concert Band both participated in this years Government House Open Day held on Sunday the 28th of February.

K & N performed throughout the morning in the grounds of Government House.

A steady crowd including His Excellency Rear Admiral Kevin Scarce AC CSC RANR Governor of South Australia listened to the band.
Afterwards the band enjoyed an impromptu photo opportunity in front of Government House.

Meghan Thomas farewelled

Meghan Thomas - Tenorhorn with K & N Spring Gully Brass was farewelled at rehearsal on Thursday 18 March.

Megan moves to Sydney to attend University.

Meghan's achievements were detailed by Musical Director Bruce Raymond and echoed in a further speech by Band President Ollie Clark. Both noted that Meghan had commenced her association with K & N via the Youth Band, progressing on merit to the senior ensemble with distinction.

Exciting times for K & N Youth Brass

Rehearsals for K & N Youth Brass resume on Thursday 4th Feb.

Slightly adjusted rehearsal times for 2010 will be Thursday’s 6.30 PM to 7.45 PM.

In an exciting development Musical Director Peter Smith announced that Karina Filipi has agreed to assist him in leading the band through rehearsals.

Karina will be well known to most in South Australian banding circles for her achievements on Eb Bass. The former South Australian Junior Champion of Champion will be a familiar and welcome face for most at K & N Youth Brass.
